The engine used in the 2008 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 Cobra is a massive 5.4L V-8 Double-Over-Head-Cam engine featuring four-valves per cylinder for a total of 32 valves in all. The power plant beneath the hood produces 500HP and 480FTLB of torque via the Supercharger. Power is routed to the rear-wheels via a stock 6-speed manual transmission sitting on 107” wheel-base tires.

The Shelby Mustang attains an EPA-estimated 14mpg around the city and 20mpg on the highway making this one of the most powerful yet efficient Mustangs ever built.
